DAY-Africa (Development Associates for Young Africans)

About DAY-Africa (Development Associates for Young Africans)

DAY-Africa focuses on empowering young people and women, particularly those living in rural areas and informal settlements in Kenya. With 80% of their participants being female, the organization aims to equip its beneficiaries with practical skills in tailoring, digital literacy, entrepreneurship, and employability, preparing them for self-employment and peacebuilding. They offer vocational training programs and have partnerships with organizations like LVCT Health and SHOFCO. DAY-Africa is also involved in agricultural initiatives, such as goat farming and horticulture, and provides childcare support for young mothers in training.

suggested project & deliverables

This project aims to expand DAY-Africa’s impact into regions like Homabay and Migori. It focuses on empowering youth and women through vocational training and economic development programs. DAY-Africa is seeking assistance in developing systems to manage larger grants and improve their project management and monitoring and evaluation (M&E) capabilities. This support is essential to ensure the sustainability of the BBYW project and its potential to drive lasting change in the targeted communities.
