DPAK Sacco Society Ltd. is a Kenyan-registered, for-profit social enterprise (Savings and Credit Cooperative Organization) based in Nairobi, dedicated to promoting the financial inclusion and empowerment of domestic workers both in Kenya and abroad. Established to address the financial vulnerability, poor literacy, and exploitation often faced by this community, DPAK Sacco provides a safe, formal platform for managing income, building assets, and accessing capital. The Sacco’s model centres on providing affordable savings and credit facilities coupled with essential financial literacy education to equip members with the practical skills needed for budgeting, debt management, and future planning. By focusing on this financially excluded segment, DPAK Sacco directly supports the UN Sustainable Development Goals, specifically Goal 1: No Poverty and Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, thereby strengthening the financial resilience and stability of the families its members serve.
suggested project & deliverables
DPAK Sacco suggests a project centered on scaling their proven “Money-Wise Domestic Workers Program” to improve financial resilience and long-term economic stability for thousands more domestic workers. The organization seeks support through the S-Bize program to scale this proven financial literacy model, which integrates practical training on budgeting, savings, and debt management with direct access to DPAK Sacco’s safe, affordable financial services. This project is directly aimed at breaking the cycle of financial vulnerability and dependence on predatory lending, which currently traps this community. By expanding the reach of the “Money-Wise” program, DPAK Sacco aims to significantly increase savings uptake, improve household stability, and ultimately uplift one of the most financially excluded groups in Kenya and the Middle East.
