About Agape Woman and Child Empowerment Foundation (AWOCHE Foundation)

AWOCHE Foundation, established in 2016, is a youth-driven organization dedicated to empowering communities to make informed decisions that foster sustainable development. The foundation’s vision is to create an inclusive society where health is universally accessible, equality is celebrated, and individuals can reach their full potential. Their primary focus is on adolescents and young women aged 10–19, with activities centered around mentorship, menstrual hygiene management, family planning awareness, and the production of reusable sanitary pads. The foundation also runs economic empowerment initiatives, environmental awareness programs, and maternal health advocacy efforts.

suggested project & deliverables

AWOCHE is producing reusable sanitary towels to address period poverty and reduce period shaming among vulnerable women. The organization seeks support in designing these products to meet global market standards, enabling their distribution to vulnerable women worldwide. This project aims to expand the reach of AWOCHE’s sanitary towels while maintaining affordability and sustainability, empowering women globally through improved menstrual hygiene.

About DAY-Africa (Development Associates for Young Africans)

DAY-Africa focuses on empowering young people and women, particularly those living in rural areas and informal settlements in Kenya. With 80% of their participants being female, the organization aims to equip its beneficiaries with practical skills in tailoring, digital literacy, entrepreneurship, and employability, preparing them for self-employment and peacebuilding. They offer vocational training programs and have partnerships with organizations like LVCT Health and SHOFCO. DAY-Africa is also involved in agricultural initiatives, such as goat farming and horticulture, and provides childcare support for young mothers in training.

This project aims to expand DAY-Africa’s impact into regions like Homabay and Migori. It focuses on empowering youth and women through vocational training and economic development programs. DAY-Africa is seeking assistance in developing systems to manage larger grants and improve their project management and monitoring and evaluation (M&E) capabilities. This support is essential to ensure the sustainability of the BBYW project and its potential to drive lasting change in the targeted communities.

About Empower and Serve Kenya (EmpServe Kenya)

Their initiatives, like the Social Innovation Eco-Village (SIEVE) and DigiLabs, offer innovative, community-tailored programs that enable young people to address local challenges and create sustainable solutions. EmpServe Kenya emphasizes a grassroots approach to ensure the long-term sustainability of its programs.

This project aims to equip youth with advanced ICT skills, alongside structured entrepreneurship training. Participants will benefit from hands-on training, incubation support, and job-readiness programs that will foster entrepreneurial success and innovation. EmpServe is looking for guidance in areas such as curriculum development, mentorship, optimization of incubation programs, sustainability strategies, and scalability to reach a larger number of participants and enhance their impact on the local market.

About Nivalishe Pad

NivalishePad Initiative is a women-led Community-Based Organization based in Mukuru Kwa Njenga, Nairobi. The organization focuses on promoting sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR), mental health awareness, and policy advocacy for adolescents and youth. Their mission is centered on advancing reproductive health and rights through grassroots engagement and community-driven strategies. Their initiatives include menstrual hygiene management (MHM) advocacy through the MHM Matters, Period! campaign, economic empowerment programs for young mothers, leadership development for adolescent girls, and pad distribution drives for school-aged girls.

Proposed Project – Imarisha Dada

The Imarisha Dada project seeks to address the concerning rise of teenage pregnancies and gender-based violence (GBV) in Mukuru kwa Njenga, with Embakasi South recording a 28% teenage pregnancy rate. Through a mix of entrepreneurship training, digital marketing, and artificial intelligence, the project aims to economically empower young women, providing them with sustainable income sources. This project aspires to reduce early marriages and promote financial independence. Support is required in designing a socio-economic empowerment curriculum that incorporates AI and digital marketing, ensuring the program aligns with the participants’ needs.
